Job Details

Contract Length: 12 weeks (Monday 24th September – Friday 14th December)

Time commitment: 3-5 days per week

Pay: £4,154 (pro rata’d for an Intern in London working 5 days a week for 12 weeks)

Closing date: Monday 30th July, 23:55

Interviews: 20th – 31st August

Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest charity dedicated to beating all types of cancer. We now have a brilliant opportunity for you to join us as an intern. We’re looking for someone with the desire to make a difference to join us and make an impact while building your experience in an office environment. Roles are available across the organisation from Technology to Corporate Partnerships; from Data Analysis to Marketing and Science Communications.

What will I gain from the Internship?

As the role will add real value to Cancer Research UK we want to ensure you’re getting a lot out of it too. During your internship you’ll get hands on experience in your area of interest and a project to own. You’ll have a dedicated intern manager who will support you through your projects and previous interns (or ‘buddies’) to offer you peer support and accelerate your personal development. To increase your employability, you’ll go through a structured development programme with skills training on IT and project management and access to networking opportunities and our internal jobs board. You’ll be eligible for many of our benefits, including paid holiday and you will be paid the Living Wage (£4,154) as part of our commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse culture where everyone is able to reach their full potential.

What skills are Cancer Research UK looking for?

We’re always looking for people from a wide range of backgrounds, who can bring different perspectives, so you don’t need to have had previous charity experience to apply. Cancer is something that impacts everyone and we want our workforce to reflect the diversity of the audience we work with.

The skills needed will vary depending on the role but key transferable skills include:

  • Strong organisation, planning and prioritisation skills
  • Good interpersonal and team working skills
  • A self-motivated approach and the ability to use initiative
